The company announced the benefit alongside the release of its 2025 Sustainability Report, which details initiatives covering employees, communities, environmental protection and other stakeholders.
Under its new global paternity leave policy, eligible employees will receive at least 20 days of paid leave, supplementing statutory benefits in their respective markets.
In the Philippines, Trip.com said employees will receive an additional 13 days of fully paid paternity leave on top of the existing seven-day entitlement, bringing the total to at least 20 days.
The first phase of the policy took effect on Aug. 1 in selected Asian markets, including the Philippines, with more regions set to be covered later this year.
“Travel connects people, cultures and communities, and we believe the future of travel must also create positive outcomes for the planet and society,” Trip.com Group CEO Jane Sun said.
“Through our sustainability strategy, we are investing in our people, accelerating climate action and working with partners worldwide to build a more resilient tourism ecosystem,” she added.
Family, workplace benefits
The expanded paternity leave complements Trip.com’s existing childcare support programs.
The company said its Childcare Subsidy has supported 2,038 families since its launch. In 2025 alone, 1,114 employees benefited from the program, backed by an investment of about $1.6 million.
Trip.com also reported a 100-percent return-to-work rate among female employees following maternity leave during the reporting period.
Women accounted for 33.1 percent of senior management positions, 52.3 percent of management roles in key revenue-generating functions and 33 percent of STEM-related positions across the group.
Climate action
On the environmental front, Trip.com said it became the first online travel company in Asia-Pacific to secure Science Based Targets initiative validation for both its near-term and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
The company also expanded travel options designed to help customers reduce their carbon footprint across accommodations, flights, car rentals and rail.
In 2025, 2.74 million users selected what the company classified as lower-carbon business travel options, resulting in 23.44 million such bookings during the year.
Trip.com’s sustainability strategy is structured around its “Friendly Four” framework covering families, communities, the environment and stakeholders.
Tourism investment
Trip.com is also putting more money into tourism development and innovation.
At its 2025 Global Partner Conference, the company launched a $100-million Tourism Innovation Fund aimed at supporting tourism projects and cross-sector partnerships focused on destination development and new visitor experiences.
Its Country Retreats program, meanwhile, created more than 400 jobs and supported about 11,000 indirect employment opportunities during the reporting year. Trip.com said the initiative has contributed to around 51,000 employment opportunities over the past five years.
The company has also sought to make its travel services more accessible. Its “Trip for Everyone” project introduced improvements such as better color contrast, scalable typography, screen reader compatibility and keyboard navigation.
Trip.com also upgraded its Global SOS Platform to support 24 languages and 20 types of travel emergencies. The platform handled more than 23,000 assistance requests across over 100 destinations in 2025.
By the end of last year, the group offered more than 350,000 in-destination experiences worldwide, ranging from dining and shopping to tours, attraction tickets and customized travel experiences. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
