Through their flagship digital upskilling program, eBizNovation, the PLDT Group has helped over 32,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide embrace digital transformation.
The initiative provides essential training in digital skills, e-commerce operations, and online safety, enabling business owners to thrive in today’s tech-driven economy.
“MSMEs are the backbone of our economy,” said Stephanie V. Orlino, AVP and head of stakeholder engagement at PLDT and Smart. “Through eBizNovation, we’re giving entrepreneurs the tools to tell their stories online, reach more customers, and protect their businesses in the digital world.”
The program’s recent activations included Shop and Ship Caravan in Pasay and the Power Up MSME Summer Fair in Subic, Cebu, Bacolod, Moalboal, and Davao, attracting over 250 MSMEs.
These events offered workshops and hands-on sessions covering a wide range of topics—from optimizing Canva designs and navigating logistics with J&T Express, to building a digital storefront on TikTok Shop Philippines.
The workshops also tackled AI-powered marketing, e-commerce optimization, and cybersecurity essentials, equipping MSMEs with the skills to grow their businesses confidently and securely in the digital space.
More than just a one-off initiative, eBizNovation aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth)—and is a key part of PLDT and Smart’s mission to drive inclusive economic development.
By partnering with government agencies, local chambers of commerce, and top digital platforms, the program creates a robust support system for entrepreneurs at the grassroots level.
“At a time when the digital divide can mean the difference between growth and closure, eBizNovation shows that when Filipinos are given the right tools, they don’t just adapt—they lead,” Orlino added.
As PLDT and Smart continue expanding the reach of eBizNovation, more Filipino entrepreneurs stand to benefit—turning digital know-how into sustainable business growth. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
