Dennis Anthony Uy’s Converge ICT forges strategic partnership with South Korea’s NAVER for advanced cloud services

Internet tycoon Dennis Anthony Uy’s Converge ICT Solutions announced a strategic partnership with South Korean tech giant NAVER, also known as the Google of South Korea, to deliver cutting-edge cloud services in the Philippines. 

NAVER Cloud’s CEO, Yuwon Kim, visited the country last May 9 for the signing of the partnership.

"We will collaborate with Converge based on our capability in smart city technologies and localized sovereign AI, sovereign cloud implementation to secure data sovereignty," he added.

Sovereign cloud, smart cities 

Converge, the country’s largest pure fiber internet company, said the partnership will explore opportunities in the country’s growing cloud market, and will include NAVER solutions being offered to large businesses and applications for smart cities. 

Other solutions with Naver include artificial intelligence-powered large language model and sovereign cloud, which is data infrastructure used by government agencies and institutions seeking to protect highly sensitive data.

Diversification

The partnership aligns with Converge’s efforts to diversify revenue streams.

“This partnership is poised to enhance accessibility, and efficiency for businesses and individuals alike, marking an exciting development for the Philippines’ cloud market,” he added. 

Converge high-speed internet services to residential and enterprise customers across a fiber network of over 690,000 kilometers linking over 2.1 million subscribers.
