Clark airport rolls out free shuttle for CRK-bound passengers

Insider Spotlight

  • Free hourly shuttle trips now connect Naia Terminal 3 to Clark International Airport for eligible passengers
  • The service starts April 1 and covers travelers flying from Clark Airport within 24 hours
  • LIPAD and Genesis Transport say the move is meant to ease the shift of turboprop operations to Clark

Passengers flying out of Clark International Airport (CRK) can now take a free shuttle from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3, as operator Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. and Genesis Transport step up support for travelers affected by shifting flight operations.

The complimentary shuttle service begins April 1 and is available to passengers with confirmed flights departing from Clark within 24 hours. Participating airlines are Cebu Pacific, CebGo, AirSWIFT, Philippine Airlines, and Sunlight Air.

Why it matters

The new service strengthens the link between Metro Manila and Central Luzon at a time when airlines and airport operators are pushing to make Clark a more convenient alternative gateway.

For passengers, the offer reduces transfer costs and could help smooth the adjustment as more turboprop services move out of Manila.

Shuttle trips will leave every hour, on the dot, from the Genesis station at Naia Terminal 3, Bay 13.

To avail themselves of the free shuttle service, passengers must present their boarding pass or flight itinerary with booking reference, along with a valid government-issued ID, to the Genesis dispatcher at Naia Terminal 3, Bay 13. | Contributed photo

How it works

The free ride is reserved strictly for passengers departing from CRK. To qualify, travelers must show a valid boarding pass or flight itinerary with booking reference, along with a government-issued ID, to the Genesis dispatcher at Naia Terminal 3.

A voucher will then be issued. Passengers must fill it out and hand it to the bus conductor before boarding.

LIPAD said the benefit is limited to one-time use, is nontransferable, and remains subject to seat availability on a first-come, first-served basis. No boarding pass means no free ride.

What they’re saying

“This initiative is part of our continuing efforts to ease the transition of turboprop operations to Clark and ensure that passengers are fully supported as services shift. By providing a seamless and cost-free transfer option, we are making it easier for travelers to access CRK,” Noel Manankil, chief executive officer of LIPAD, said in a press statement.

The bottom line

By offering a no-cost transfer between Naia and Clark, LIPAD and Genesis are betting that better ground connectivity can improve the passenger experience and make travel between the country’s two major gateways more seamless and efficient. —Vanessa Hidalgo |Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
