Grab Philippines has commenced construction of its Grab Asenso Center in Marikina City, a 1.5-hectare facility designed to enhance the livelihoods of its partners, including drivers, riders, and merchants from its motorcycle taxi service, MOVE IT.

The center — set to open in early 2025 — will feature comprehensive programs in onboarding, skills training, road safety assessments, and digital capacity building. It will replace the existing Grab Partner Center, offering expanded facilities tailored to support the evolving needs of Grab’s growing ecosystem.

Grab Philippines country head Ronald Roda underscored the initiative’s role in fostering inclusive growth.

"For over 13 years, Grab has been a platform that drives not just economic activity but meaningful impact,” he said in a speech. "The Grab Asenso Center will ensure our partners — whether drivers, riders, or merchants — are equipped to succeed in today’s digital-first economy. This facility represents our commitment to uplift communities and empower everyday entrepreneurs to thrive."

The initiative aligns with Grab’s ongoing pledge to create 500,000 livelihood opportunities, reflecting its broader mission to drive economic inclusion through technology.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista, who emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in modernizing transportation and creating sustainable livelihoods.

Bautista noted that app-based platforms like Grab are crucial drivers of inclusive growth, merging technology with opportunity.

Once operational, the Grab Asenso Center will offer state-of-the-art facilities, including a larger road safety training area and dedicated upskilling spaces for both Grab and MOVE IT partners.

Grab said this initiative further solidifies its role as a key contributor to the Philippines’ digital economy, providing enhanced support for its partners to thrive in the competitive market.
