The EDSA Busway, used by about 170,000 passengers daily or over 60 million commuters a year, has fully reopened its exclusive inner lane from Roxas Boulevard to Orense after rehabilitation works were completed on schedule.

The reopened section restores normal northbound and southbound bus operations following the completion of asphalt overlay works under the EDSA Rehabilitation Project.

The Department of Transportation said the repairs were finished within the original timeline, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to fast-track improvements ahead of the return to work and school.

Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez thanked DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon and the Department of Public Works and Highways for completing the works on time, ensuring faster and more comfortable travel for bus commuters.

Officials from the DOTr, DPWH, and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority inspected the busway stations ahead of reopening, while repair works on other EDSA sections will continue nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
