Ayala flags fake Spinneys PH pages offering investments

Ayala Corp. has warned the public against a fake Facebook page and Viber account using the Ayala name to lure individuals into a supposed investment scheme linked to “Spinneys Philippines.”

In an advisory, the company said the Facebook page @spinneysphilippines2025 and the Viber account @spineysph are falsely presenting themselves as affiliated with Ayala and are soliciting money from the public for alleged investment opportunities with “guaranteed returns.”

Ayala Corp., in a statement, stressed that it is not associated with, nor does it endorse, any investment activities being promoted through these unofficial accounts.

“These fraudulent accounts are asking people to send money to participate in investment opportunities with guaranteed returns,” the company said, warning that such claims are a common tactic used by scammers to deceive potential victims.

The conglomerate emphasized that it communicates only through its official and verified channels, including its corporate website and authenticated social media pages. Any investment offers or business opportunities not announced through these platforms should be treated with extreme caution.

The warning comes amid a rise in online investment scams in the Philippines, as fraudsters increasingly use social media and messaging apps to reach a wider audience and impersonate legitimate businesses. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
