APECO President and CEO Undersecretary Gil G. Taway IV will represent the agency during the conference's CEO Forum on July 8, where he will join senior port, logistics, and maritime executives from across Southeast Asia, the ecozone said in a statement.
Regional platform
Taway will participate in the panel discussion titled "Adapting to Current Uncertainties, Addressing Current Disruptions in Cargo Movements and Forecasting the Future of Global Trade Routes and its Implications for ASEAN Ports."
The forum provides APECO with an opportunity to present the Casiguran International New Port as a future Pacific-facing gateway for cargo consolidation, storage, processing, and redistribution, amid growing demand for more resilient trade routes and logistics hubs.
The CEO Forum will bring together executives from leading port operators, shipping companies, and logistics firms, including representatives from Port Klang Authority, MMC Port Holdings Berhad, MTT Shipping and Logistics, LuMIC Development Sdn. Bhd., and PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva.
The two-day conference, scheduled on July 8 and 9, is expected to gather about 300 senior executives representing shippers, cargo owners, importers, exporters, shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics companies, ports, terminal operators, railway operators, and port equipment and service providers from across ASEAN and neighboring markets.
Investment drive
Aside from participating in the conference, APECO will conduct port benchmarking activities at Port Klang, Malaysia's principal maritime gateway and one of the world's busiest container ports.
The agency will also undertake an investment mission in Malaysia from July 7 to 9 to promote business opportunities within the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone.
APECO will highlight investment prospects in seaport and airport development, clean energy, and other priority industries while exploring potential partnerships in the halal sector, particularly in food and beverage, tourism, and related services.
The investment mission forms part of the agency's broader strategy to position Aurora as an emerging investment destination that links ASEAN economies with Pacific markets through modern infrastructure, logistics connectivity, and export-oriented industries. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
