The Makati-based lender said its programs reached communities from Aklan to Cebu and Pampanga, reflecting its mission to enrich lives, empower businesses, and build communities sustainably.
Why it matters
Banks are increasingly judged not just on financial performance, but on how effectively they deliver inclusive growth.
Security Bank’s 2025 efforts underscore how financial institutions can pair balance-sheet strength with long-term social impact.
Driving livelihoods and resilience
In Aklan, the bank partnered with Beacon for the Upliftment of Status of Everyone Inc. and Angat Pinas to distribute cacao seedlings, poultry starter kits, and rescue equipment, benefiting 40 solo parents and smallholder farmers.
In Pampanga, solar-powered streetlights were installed in a remote sitio through a partnership with JCI Manila and the Global Peace Foundation, improving safety while promoting clean energy.
Through its Prevail program with International Care Ministries, Security Bank also provided business mentorship and financial training to 980 families in Cebu.
Disaster response efforts, carried out with Angat Buhay, supported 661 families affected by an earthquake and Typhoon “Tino,” including food distribution in Cebu City, Liloan, and Talisay.
Culture and inclusion
The bank backed advocacy-driven cultural programs, including the Bravo Empowered Women Awards, which honored Filipino leaders across business, public service, social entrepreneurship, and STEM.
It also launched its inaugural Paint for the Planet Art Competition with the Art Association of the Philippines, drawing more than 300 artists nationwide under the theme People, Planet, Prosperity.
These details were shared as part of a press release highlighting the breadth of the bank’s 2025 initiatives.
Investing in education
Through Security Bank Foundation Inc., the lender donated 901 classrooms to 153 public schools in 2025, easing classroom congestion and improving learning environments.
Training programs supported 79 school principals and 88 teachers, while scholarship initiatives brought the total number of supported scholars to more than 2,000. Free eye screenings and eyeglasses reached 1,170 students, addressing basic but often overlooked barriers to learning.
Sustainability and finance
On the environmental front, employees and partners planted 940 mangrove seedlings in La Union under Project MITHI, part of a 10,000-seedling goal.
In sustainable finance, Security Bank disbursed P99.4 billion in green and social loans as of October, exceeding its 2025 target by 18 percent. The financing provided clean water to 500,000 households, expanded healthcare capacity with 544 beds and clinic rooms, and created opportunities for more than 400,000 people.
