Insider Spotlight

  • Organizations that anchor growth on shared values are proving more resilient amid workplace change
  • Collaboration and psychological safety are becoming business imperatives, not just HR goals
  • Takeda Healthcare Philippines is translating culture into sustained engagement and trust

A people-centered culture is emerging as a strategic advantage for companies navigating volatility—and Takeda Healthcare Philippines Inc. (THPI) is leaning into that belief as it strengthens collaboration, resilience, and shared values across its workforce.

As employers recalibrate for a postpandemic reality marked by burnout risks and evolving employee expectations, THPI has focused on creating an environment where people feel empowered to contribute, innovate, and grow. Leaders say this emphasis on trust and inclusion underpins both employee fulfillment and long-term business sustainability.

Recognition

That approach recently gained regional recognition, with THPI earning a second consecutive citation at the Asia Corporate Excellence and Sustainability (ACES) Awards, in the Inspiring Workplaces in Asia category. The acknowledgment highlights how the company embeds its values-driven philosophy—known internally as Takeda-ism—into everyday practices.

In a press release, THPI country manager Loreann Villanueva underscored the link between culture and performance:

“Our commitment to Takeda-ism has created a work environment that enables a dynamic and diverse workplace, while also growing stakeholder trust and strengthening the business. We are grateful to ACES for this wonderful recognition.”

Between the lines

ACES judges cited Takeda’s deliberate focus on collaboration, resilience, and shared purpose as key differentiators, noting how these principles translate into concrete programs that support psychological safety and innovation.

“This accolade celebrates Takeda’s dedication to creating an empowering workplace where people thrive through collaboration, resilience, and shared values. By embedding Takeda-ism into every aspect of its culture, fostering psychological safety, and driving innovation through inclusive programs, the company demonstrates how a strong workplace ethos drives both employee fulfillment and business success.”

How it shows up

THPI has rolled out initiatives that reinforce its people-first strategy, including wellness and resilience programs, mentoring and development pathways, and flexible work arrangements such as hybrid setups, flexible hours, and “No Meeting Fridays.”

The company has also expanded medical benefits to include same-sex and common-law partners, signaling its commitment to equity and inclusion.

Judges pointed to the impact of these programs on engagement and belonging: “With a workforce empowered by resilience programs, psychological safety, and innovation incubators, Takeda has created an environment that is both dynamic and inclusive. Employee engagement is reinforced through wellness initiatives, growth-focused mentoring, and benefits that extend inclusivity to dependents—ensuring that people remain at the center of its success.”

What’s next

The ACES recognition builds on THPI’s recent Great Place to Work certifications and Best Workplaces honors in the Philippines.
