The partnership was officially sealed through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025 held in Dubai.
This landmark collaboration aims to attract and accommodate a growing number of Middle Eastern and Muslim travelers by ensuring culturally sensitive and halal-compliant services across RHR’s hotel portfolio, which spans 30 properties in over 20 key destinations across the Philippines.
“At Robinsons Hotels and Resorts, we are proud to partner with the Department of Tourism through the signing of a memorandum of understanding for Muslim-Friendly Accommodations,” said Barun Jolly, senior vice president and business unit general manager of RHR. “This partnership reflects our support for the DOT’s vision of inclusive travel for all.”
RHR’s properties will be aligned with Muslim-friendly standards, including the availability of halal food options, prayer facilities, Qibla direction markers, and other amenities suited to Muslim guests’ needs.
This initiative not only aligns with global hospitality best practices but also supports the DOT’s broader strategy to position the Philippines as a welcoming destination for Muslim travelers, RHR said in a statement.
Jolly further highlighted the significance of the Arabian Travel Market as a strategic venue for the announcement.
“There could not have been a more appropriate venue than ATM in Dubai to formalize this important agreement. We are deeply grateful to Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco and the Department of Tourism for their continued support and partnership,” he said.
With a brand promise of “Hospitality by Heart,” RHR is poised to elevate the travel experience for diverse global audiences while staying true to its Filipino roots in service excellence.
This latest initiative is a clear demonstration of the Philippine government and private sector’s joint commitment to inclusive tourism and cultural awareness, paving the way for a more accessible and respectful travel experience for Muslim guests in the country. — Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
