The company said Grand Summit Bohol will rise in Doljo, Panglao, about 20 minutes from the Bohol-Panglao International Airport. The project will break ground in the second quarter of 2026 and is scheduled to open in 2028.
Tourism appeal
Bohol’s growing reputation as a premier tourism destination made it a strategic location for the Grand Summit brand, RHR said in a statement..
“Bohol offers the Grand Summit brand a destination with a wider range of experiences, from Panglao’s coastline to natural landmarks such as the Chocolate Hills, tarsier sanctuaries and marine attractions,” said Barun Jolly, Robinsons Land senior vice president and business unit general manager for RHR.
Jolly added that Bohol’s recognition as the Philippines’ first UNESCO Global Geopark, along with expanded airport capacity and increasing direct international flights, continues to improve access for local and foreign travelers.
The hotel operator said the project is designed to cater to leisure travelers, families, corporate groups and destination events while incorporating Bohol’s local character into the guest experience.
Upscale features
Grand Summit Bohol will have more than 200 guest rooms and suites, all designed with balconies and views of either the ocean or pool.
The property will feature dining outlets, a grand ballroom, meeting rooms, wellness and family-friendly amenities, along with guest conveniences such as self-check-in kiosks — one of RHR’s signature innovations.
Its architecture will showcase an ocean wave-inspired façade, while solar power systems and smart technologies will be integrated into the development.
“Grand Summit Bohol is defined by its location on 7,737 square meters of prime beachfront property, with ocean views and spaces designed for both leisure and meaningful gatherings,” Jolly said.
He added that the hotel is envisioned as a lifestyle destination combining premium meeting venues, family-oriented facilities, Filipino hospitality and global standards.
Expansion plans
Robinsons Land President and CEO Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio said the project addresses the growing need for branded upscale accommodations in Panglao.
“By bringing upscale accommodations and MICE facilities to Bohol, we hope to support tourism that goes beyond leisure, from meetings and corporate travel to destination events, while creating jobs and supporting local businesses,” she said.
Grand Summit Bohol forms part of RHR’s broader expansion strategy targeting both leisure and business travel markets nationwide.
RHR currently operates 30 hotels and resorts with over 5,000 room keys across 20 cities and municipalities. By 2030, the company aims to expand to 37 properties with more than 6,400 room keys. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
