Insider Spotlight
Set to open in 2029, the project will rise along Doljo Beach in Panglao and feature more than 200 guestrooms and suites, a grand ballroom, and meeting and event spaces designed to capture demand from the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events (M.I.C.E.) sector.
The property will also include dining outlets, a spa, gym, children’s play area, and a Muslim prayer room.
Why it matters
The project positions RHR as the first major homegrown hospitality group to establish a large-scale presence in Bohol, a province identified as a priority destination under the government’s National Tourism Development Plan.
In a company release, RLC senior vice president and RHR business unit general manager Barun Jolly said Bohol was a strategic choice for the group’s expansion plans, citing Panglao’s “hidden gem” appeal and the exclusivity of Doljo Beach.
RLC president and CEO Mybelle Aragon-GoBio said the investment aligns with the company’s long-term goal of building communities while supporting Bohol’s emergence as a global tourism hub. She also highlighted the accessibility of Panglao International Airport, located about 20 minutes from the project site.
The bigger picture
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado, Panglao Mayor Edgardo “Boy” Arcay, and other local officials, who welcomed the development as a potential driver of tourism, employment, and economic growth in the province.
The Bohol expansion further strengthens RHR’s nationwide footprint. The hospitality group currently operates 30 properties across 20 cities and municipalities under a portfolio that spans luxury, upscale, midscale, and essential-service hotel brands. — Princess Daisy C.
