Insider Spotlight
PhilSA’s participation signals Manila’s intent to deepen cross-border collaboration on satellite technology, Earth observation, communications and space-enabled sustainability solutions—areas increasingly vital to national development, climate resilience and economic competitiveness.
Driving the news
The Summit, taking place on Feb. 2-3 2026, at Marina Bay Sands, has secured strong backing from Singapore, with Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Defence Science and Technology Agency, Infocomm Media Development Authority, Maritime and Port Authority, Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau and SGInnovate now supporting the event.
These endorsements strengthen the platform where the Philippines will engage counterparts from Japan’s JAXA, Germany’s DLR, the UAE Space Agency, Brazil’s AEB, Malaysia’s MYSA and other major players.
Gay Jane Perez, officer-in-charge of PhilSA, will represent the Philippines among more than 40 confirmed speakers shaping discussions on responsible space development, regional collaboration and the fast-evolving in-space economy.
The big picture
PhilSA’s participation comes at a time when the Philippines is accelerating satellite development, disaster-response applications, and partnerships with industry and academia.
The Summit opens doors for Manila to advance cooperation in areas such as data-sharing, launch services, technology transfer and commercial collaboration.
The event also brings together influential companies, from Earth observation leaders like Capella Space and Pixxel to Singapore-based innovators including SpeQtral, Transcelestial and Zero Error Systems—firms aligned with Philippine interests in connectivity, quantum security, space communications and radiation-hardened components.
What they’re saying
“Singapore is the natural convening point for businesses and markets from all over the world. Space Summit 2026 has received a positive response from private and public sector leaders in the global space industry,” Leck Chet Lam, managing director of Experia Events, said in a press release on Nov. 24, 2025
He added: “The support from these diverse government entities is indicative of the breadth of the space industry. Space Summit 2026 is facilitating meaningful international collaboration that will help to build an innovative and sustainable space ecosystem across the region and the world.”
