At the same time, the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) consortium also encouraged travelers to use “alternative transportation” to and from the airport, including ride hailing services which are generally cheaper than paying for overnight parking for a trip of several days.
In a message posted on its website, NNIC said the rate adjustments, effective since Oct. 1, 2024, align with a government mandate to decongest traffic around the airport.
The firm emphasizes that the increase mainly impacts overnight and long-term parking users, aiming to free up 1,800 parking slots and improve traffic flow.
While short-term parking rates saw minimal changes, long-term parking was significantly increased to discourage extended stays.
NNIC said it retains only 17.84 percent of parking revenues, with the majority directed to the government, funding infrastructure improvements across other airports.
Off-site facilities, like those of Park 'N Fly, offer substantially cheaper rates at P595 per day, tax inclusive. Parking slots can be booked in advance to ensure availability.
