It’s a high-impact move under its “Joy for Tomorrow” sustainability agenda that tackles landfill pollution, cuts emissions, and supports farmers in one sweep.
Key highlights
• Jollibee is converting food waste into 480 to 960 bags of fertilizer annually using Nutricycle’s black soldier fly technology.
• Half of the fertilizer output will support smallholder farmers through the Jollibee Group Foundation’s Farmer Entrepreneurship Program.
• The remaining output will be used in the DENR’s National Greening Program to aid reforestation efforts.
• The initiative builds on Jollibee’s sustainability gains, including raising its sustainably disposed waste rate from 24 percent in 2020 to 62.5 percent by end-2024.
Management’s view

“By integrating circular economy solutions into our supply chain, we aim to create a lasting impact—not just for our business, but for the environment and the people we serve,” she added.
Strong partnership
Nutricycle, a company focused on sustainable waste solutions, welcomed the partnership as a strong model for corporate environmental responsibility.
“We are excited to collaborate with Jollibee Group in pioneering sustainable waste solutions,” said Dino Simbulan, president of Nutricycle Inc. “With their scale and commitment to sustainability, this partnership sets a strong example for how companies can take proactive steps toward environmental responsibility.”
The Jollibee Group has also reported a 44 percent cumulative reduction in food loss and waste across its manufacturing sites since 2020, even as production volumes continued to rise.
