The "Halal-Friendly Philippines" campaign yielded  more than $100 million in business deals at the Saudi Halal Expo, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said in a statement.

“This success reflects the Philippines’ strategic vision under Bagong Pilipinas to establish a sustainable Halal ecosystem that meets global demand. It is a testament to the collective efforts of our industries and government to drive business growth, attract investments, and create meaningful job opportunities for Filipinos and the global Halal community,” said Trade Secretary Cristina A. Roque.

Key contributions, according to the DTI,  came from various sectors: pre-cooked ready-to-eat food secured $15 million in deals, seafood and fish supply accounted for $35 million in sales, and Halal-compliant logistics services inked a one-year contract worth $5 million.

Additionally, the Halal IT solutions sector closed $38 million in agreements to enhance certification and marketing.

Human resource services added to this momentum, finalizing contracts that will create at least 100 jobs annually. Two agencies in the Philippine delegation also secured deals worth $4.4 million combined, underscoring the growing demand for Halal-related expertise.

Led by the DTI-Halal Development and Trade Office, a 64-member delegation from the Philippines showcased a wide range of Halal-certified products at the expo. --Ed: CSN
