Globe rallied its growing community of developers, engineers, and innovators to harness the power to create, as it mounted the third Globe Developers Conference (DevCon) on Oct. 9 at The Globe Tower, a full-day celebration of technology, creativity, and collaboration.

Spotlight on AI-powered innovation

Building on the success of previous editions, DevCon 2025 spotlighted AI-powered innovation, empowering developers to reimagine what’s possible in an increasingly connected world.

The event brought together over 1,000 participants from Globe’s tech and business communities, partner companies, and academic institutions—uniting some of the country’s brightest minds to shape the future of digital innovation.

“Developers are the builders of the future,” Raul Macatangay, Globe chief information officer, said in a statement.

“Through DevCon, we create an environment where talent, technology, and purpose converge. We want our people and partners to see that innovation doesn’t just happen in labs—it happens when we come together to solve real problems for real people.”

A movement for collaboration and creativity

Now in its third year, Globe DevCon has evolved from an internal tech showcase into a movement that champions collaboration across the broader ecosystem.

This year’s theme, “Harnessing the Power to Create,” underscores the role of human creativity in driving intelligent, AI-powered solutions, reminding participants that the real power of technology lies in how it improves lives.

Organized by Globe’s Information Services Group (ISG), the event featured solution showcases, fireside chats, and tech demos highlighting innovations developed within Globe and its portfolio companies—including Asticom, Brave Connective, and Yondu.

These efforts reflect Globe’s broader vision of becoming a digital platform that empowers Filipinos to thrive in a tech-driven future.

Celebrating engineering excellence

DevCon also recognizes Globe’s growing reputation for world-class technical talent. Among its developers is Neil Daryl Sulit, one of only three Kubestronauts in the Philippines—and the only one from Globe.

Kubestronauts are professionals who have completed all Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Kubernetes certifications, showcasing mastery in administration, development, security, and cloud-native systems.

This achievement underscores Globe’s ability to architect and secure complex cloud-native systems—the same technologies powering giants like Google, AWS, and Netflix.

A launchpad for possibility

From cloud computing to AI integration and cybersecurity, DevCon 2025 provided an open space for collaboration, mentorship, and discovery, where developers can transform bold ideas into impactful solutions.

“We see DevCon not just as a conference, but as a launchpad for possibility,” added Macatangay. “By creating opportunities to experiment, collaborate, and innovate responsibly, Globe continues to evolve as a technology company that builds with purpose.”  —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
