The Philippines First Insurance Group (PFI Group) has introduced a new way to make financial conversations more approachable with the opening of Capital Brew on Feb. 10.

Located at Filinvest One Building in Northgate Cyberzone, Alabang, the café offers premium coffee and pastries — alongside a space designed for discussions on insurance, investments, and long-term financial planning.

Inspired by insights

The concept was shaped by findings from the “PhilLife Meter: Feeling the Insurance Pulse of Pinoy Gen Y and Z,” which explored how young Filipinos engage with financial services.

The study showed that 58 percent of respondents rely on financial agents as their primary source of financial information, while 50 percent would directly contact an insurance agent when considering insurance services. It also found that 72 percent prefer face-to-face consultations, with 43 percent favoring meetings in comfortable settings.

These insights underscored the continued importance of personal interaction, even as digital tools become more widely used.

Conversations over coffee

“Capital Brew was designed to meet people where they are,” said PFI Group President and CEO Jaeger Tanco

“We know that financial decisions are personal. By creating a comfortable and familiar environment, we allow those conversations to happen more naturally. It’s about removing intimidation and making financial planning part of everyday life.”

By shifting discussions from formal offices to a café setting, PFI Group hopes to make professional advice feel less daunting and more accessible.

“With the launch of Capital Brew, we’re redefining how people experience financial guidance,” Tanco added. “We’re making professional advice more accessible. When people feel comfortable, they ask better questions, and that leads to better decisions.”

Building financial wellness

Beyond one-on-one consultations, Capital Brew aims to promote financial wellness through community engagement, events, and informal discussions.

The space also welcomes coffee enthusiasts seeking a place to unwind, whether alone or with friends — blending lifestyle and finance in a setting designed to encourage trust, openness, and informed decision-making. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
