Insider Spotlight
The new facility, located within FUJIFILM Optics Philippines Inc. (FOPH) at the Carmelray International Business Park, will begin operations in August 2026. Construction started this month.
Why it matters
The move supports FUJIFILM’s circular economy ambitions while boosting the Philippines’ role in regional manufacturing and green production.
“With the launch of its remanufacturing operations, FUJIFILM takes another bold step—making the Philippines its ASEAN hub for circular production,” said PEZA Director General Tereso Panga.
The big picture
The CMC will disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble used printers collected across the Asia-Pacific region. Each remanufactured unit will be subject to the same inspection standards as new ones, with a maximum parts reuse rate of 84 percent by weight.
Remanufactured units are treated as new
“These remanufactured multi-function printers… are regarded as new products with their usage history… reset and new manufacturing date, product name, product code, and serial number assigned,” the company said in a statement.
Strategic logic
FOPH was chosen for its precision engineering expertise and central logistics position in Asia-Pacific. It currently assembles digital imaging components and will now train core staff to operate the CMC.
What’s next
Initial production will focus on the ApeosPort-VII A3 multifunction printer, with the center expected to scale output as demand for sustainable business equipment grows.
“FUJIFILM Business Innovation accelerates the strengthening of the global production system… and the reduction of natural resource input and CO₂ emissions,” said Mutsuki Tomono, executive advisor for ESG and corporate sustainability.
