Tycoon Andrew Tan’s liquor giant Emperador Inc. posted a 6.5 percent increase in net income to P1.85 billion in the first quarter of 2025, fueled by strong international sales and momentum from its global expansion strategy.

Its core brand Terry Centenario helped lift brandy sales in Spain by 10.8 percent in value despite a 6.3 percent drop in the overall spirits market.

Building on this, Emperador has added 470 hectares of vineyard land in Spain, boosting its grape farming capacity to support long-term growth.

It also expanded in Mexico with the acquisition of Destileria Los Danzantes, which owns top-selling artisanal mezcal brands Los Danzantes and Alipus—both expected to enter the Philippine market this year.

In the UK, Emperador is doubling production capacity at its Dalmore distillery in Alness, Scotland and expanding whisky storage in Invergordon to accommodate an additional 1.5 million maturing casks.

“Our ongoing expansions in the United Kingdom, Spain, and Mexico are testaments to our unwavering resolve to pursue our global aspirations,” said Emperador president and CEO Winston Co.
