DTI-BOI clears P26.4B in new investment projects

Thirteen investment projects worth P26.43 billion have secured the Board of Investments’ approval for registration and incentives, paving the way for the creation of thousands of new jobs.

Trade Secretary and BOI Chair Cristina A. Roque said in a press statement that the 13 projects span key priority sectors, including IT-BPM service export operations, mass housing, renewable energy, and food manufacturing.

The projects have been endorsed by the BOI Management Committee during a meeting on Dec. 12, 2025 for board confirmation.

Roque said these are on top of the several big-ticket investments previously announced, which are still undergoing rigorous evaluation.

IT-BPM investments drive majority of new jobs

A major portion of the job creation will come from newly registered IT-BPM service export operations, which will establish additional service delivery centers across key urban areas in Luzon.

These projects—spanning global HR solutions, remote staffing, and business process services—are set to open more than 2,300 quality jobs, further solidifying the Philippines’ position as a competitive global services hub.

Mass housing projects expand inclusive growth

Supporting national development priorities, the ManCom also approved new mass housing developments aimed at expanding access to affordable homes for Filipino families.

Valued at nearly P1.8 billion, these housing projects are projected to generate close to 200 jobs in construction and allied industries, contributing to local economic activity and inclusive growth.

Renewable energy capacity to surge with new projects

The country’s clean energy transition is also receiving a significant boost with the approval of large-scale solar and wind power projects.

These renewable energy investments—amounting to more than P23 billion and adding over 320 megawatts of generation capacity—will enhance long-term energy security and support national targets under the Renewable Energy Act of 2008.

Manufacturing expansion in food sector

Rounding out the list is a new manufacturing expansion in the food sector, which is expected to support local agro-processing while generating additional employment opportunities in production and logistics.

DTI-BOI fast-tracks approvals

Roque said the DTI-BOI is accelerating project evaluations and approvals in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to stimulate economic activity and expand job opportunities.

“Our work at the DTI-BOI ensures that investments deliver concrete benefits—new service centers, affordable homes, clean energy, and expanded manufacturing. Each project creates jobs, opens opportunities, and strengthens the economy, demonstrating that growth can be inclusive and sustainable,” Roque said. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
