The telco clarified that 39 foreign nationals recently questioned by immigration officers at its offices on May 29 are not DITO employees, but are legitimate personnel of accredited business partners providing technical support for its 5G network under valid service agreements.
DITO said these individuals were on-site to deliver technical and support services, a standard practice in major infrastructure projects. The company added that these foreign workers hold the necessary visas and permits to legally work in the Philippines.
“We are confident that once the appropriate proceedings are completed, the Bureau of Immigration’s records will reflect that the individuals in question possess the required visas and work permits to lawfully work in the Philippines,” DITO said in a statement on Monday.
DITO Telecommunity says it remains fully committed to compliance with all Philippine laws and continues to cooperate with authorities.
