Insider Spotlight
The initiative debuted at the Philippine Women's University on July 10, bringing students together for expert-led discussions, interactive activities, and wellness learning.
The program builds on the retailer's existing WE: The Power of Women campaign, which aims to create a community where women feel informed, supported, and empowered through different stages of life. The campus tour addresses growing awareness of women's health as students navigate new routines, responsibilities, and personal wellness concerns during college.
Why it matters
Health and beauty retailers are increasingly investing in educational initiatives to strengthen brand affinity among younger consumers while encouraging preventive healthcare. By bringing wellness conversations directly to campuses, Watsons is positioning itself as both a retailer and a wellness partner for students entering adulthood.
The launch event featured healthcare experts, pharmacists, and Watsons' brand partners, including Fern-C, Buscopan Venus, Bayer, Stresstabs, and Sisters.
Students participated in discussions on women's health, asked questions, and explored interactive booths highlighting health, beauty, and self-care products. Male students also joined the sessions, reinforcing the message that women's wellness is a shared responsibility.
What they're saying
“We hope today's conversations inspire you not only to prioritize your own health and well-being, but also to become part of a community that empowers and uplifts one another. Even the smallest act of sharing what you've learned or encouraging a friend to take better care of herself can make a meaningful difference," Watsons Philippines managing director Danilo S. Chiong said in a press statement.
Beyond the educational sessions, attendees learned about Watsons Club membership, which offers exclusive rewards and promotions, while exploring the company's health and beauty product range. The retailer also highlighted its omnichannel services, including the Watsons App, Click & Collect Express, and Home Delivery Express.
What's next
Following its inaugural stop at the Philippine Women's University, Watsons said the Women's University Tour will expand to more campuses nationwide, extending access to health, beauty, and wellness education for more young Filipinas.
The initiative also complements the company's nationwide retail network of more than 1,200 stores in the Philippines and its broader strategy of integrating in-store, online, and membership-based customer engagement. —Vanessa Hidalgo|Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
