VITRO Inc. and Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. have signed a colocation partnership agreement that moved TMP’s critical IT servers from its head office to VITRO Santa Rosa in Laguna.
Digital backbone
The arrangement forms part of TMP’s broader digital transformation strategy as the country’s leading automotive company modernizes the infrastructure supporting its operations, dealership network, and customer services.
Under the partnership, TMP will rely on VITRO Santa Rosa’s hyperscale-grade and AI-ready infrastructure to support mission-critical systems and applications used in its daily business operations.
VITRO said the facility provides a 99.99% uptime service-level agreement, giving TMP a more resilient environment for its digital systems while reducing the operational burden of running a dedicated in-house data center.
Cost efficiency
The shift was driven by TMP’s need to optimize the capital and recurring costs tied to maintaining its own data center infrastructure.
By colocating its servers with VITRO, TMP can redirect resources toward its core automotive business while outsourcing infrastructure management to a specialized data center provider.
The move is expected to support stronger business continuity, more stable system performance, and improved operational efficiency as TMP continues to embrace digitalization across its business.
"At Toyota Motor Philippines, we are committed to continuous improvement in everything we do — including how we manage our technology infrastructure," Toyota Motor Philippines first vice president for corporate affairs Josephine Villanueva said in a statement.
"Partnering with VITRO gives us the peace of mind that our critical systems are in the best hands, allowing us to concentrate fully on what we do best: serving our customers and advancing mobility in the Philippines. This investment reflects our commitment to embracing digitalization as a cornerstone of our long-term strategy."
Enterprise shift
VITRO said the partnership reflects rising demand among major companies for secure, scalable, and professionally managed data center services.
"We are proud to welcome Toyota Motor Philippines to VITRO Santa Rosa," said ePLDT and VITRO Inc. president and CEO Victor S. Genuino said in the same statement.
"This partnership is testament to our commitment to deliver world-class, resilient infrastructure that empowers global industry leaders like TMP to operate with confidence. At VITRO Santa Rosa, TMP gains more than a robust facility— they gain a trusted partner dedicated to supporting their growth, resilience, and digital future."
VITRO Santa Rosa is positioned as a hyperscale-grade facility designed to support enterprise workloads, cloud adoption, and future-ready digital operations.
For TMP, the partnership goes beyond physical colocation, with PLDT Enterprise and VITRO also positioning themselves as digital enablers for the automaker’s future connectivity, cloud, and infrastructure needs.
"This partnership goes well beyond colocation. As TMP's digital enabler, we at PLDT Enterprise and VITRO, are committed to walking alongside them at every stage of their digital journey — whether that means expanding connectivity, unlocking cloud capabilities, or scaling infrastructure as their needs evolve. This is just the beginning," PLDT Enterprise vice president and head of sales – key industries group Jacyn Chua-Teng said.
Bigger Picture
The partnership underscores how data center colocation is becoming a strategic option for enterprises seeking to secure critical digital assets without shouldering the full cost and complexity of operating their own facilities.
As companies rely more heavily on digital platforms, customer data, and mission-critical applications, demand for resilient data center infrastructure is expected to remain central to corporate technology strategies.
For VITRO, the TMP partnership adds another major enterprise client to its portfolio and reinforces the role of specialized data center operators in supporting the Philippines’ digital economy. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
