Toyota Gazoo Racing PH Cup returns to Clark for thrilling 2025 finale

The third and final race weekend of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup (TGR Philippine Cup) is set to bring adrenaline-pumping action back to the Clark International Speedway on Aug. 9, 2025, as Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) concludes its premier racing series for the year.

Admission is free, and motorsports fans across the country can also tune in via live broadcast on Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines’ official Facebook page and YouTube channel, starting at 8:30 a.m.

The 2025 finale is expected to deliver the most intense on-track battles yet, as racers in three categories — Super Sporting Class, Sporting Class, and Novice Class — compete for championship glory.

Leaders of the pack

In the Super Sporting Class, Russel Cabrera of Toyota Team Cebu – Standard Insurance leads the standings, followed closely by Alain Gabriel Alzona of Toyota General Santos – Smart Communications Racing and Michael Bryan Co of R Garage / Toyota Dagupan Group.

The Sporting Class sees Jesse Garcia of Obengers Racing – Toyota Balintawak holding the top spot, with Russel Reyes of Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines and Raymond Cudala of R Racing – MADkart trailing behind.

Meanwhile, Luis Moreno of Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines – Novice Team leads the Novice Class, with teammates Pablo Salapantan and TMP rpesident Masando Hashimoto rounding out the top three.

New race formats and crowd favorites

Headlining the weekend’s race lineup are two Sprint Races and the much-anticipated return of the Endurance Race, a grueling 1.5-hour circuit challenge that will push both drivers and machines to their limits.

Making its debut is the Tamaraw Sprint Race Exhibition, which will showcase the Tamaraw one-make-race (OMR) cars previously unveiled at Villar City. Former Vios Cup champions — Allan Uy (2016)Daniel Miranda (2017)Estefano Rivera (2021), and John Dizon (2023) — along with test driver Tyson Sy, will be behind the wheel of the Tamaraws.

The Next Generation Tamaraw will also make a special appearance in a Drag Race Exhibition, giving fans a glimpse into its performance potential as a racing platform.

Other returning favorites include:

  • Club Race – A 5-lap dash featuring GR Yaris, GR Supra, and GR 86 owners

  • Drifting Exhibition – A fan-favorite showcasing advanced driving techniques

Fun for all ages

Beyond the racetrack, the event offers a full day of family-friendly activities. Guests can win prizes and grab freebies at the Sponsors’ Booths and Game Booths, while aspiring racers can test their virtual skills at Sim Racing Rigs.

As a preview of TMP’s upcoming e-motorsports competition, the TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship 2025, on-site qualifiers will also be held — free for all interested participants.

Car displays featuring the latest Toyota GR and GR-S models, along with rare Toyota Car Club vehicles, will be on full view. Attendees can also shop official GR merchandise, including shirts, caps, and umbrellas.

Adding to the high-octane atmosphere is a live performance by pop-alternative band Over October, followed by the awarding ceremony to recognize the weekend’s top racers.

“It’s the final race weekend of the year, so we want to end on a high with new activities such as the Tamaraw Sprint Race and the return of the Endurance Race,” said Andy Ty, TMP assistant vice president for marketing services. “We’ve packed even more excitement for fans who joined us in Race Weekend 2.”
