The property developer is working with Pag-IBIG Fund to connect prospective homebuyers in Iloilo and Bacolod with residential developments and financing options, supporting its broader push into regional housing markets.
‘Housing choices that respect those roots’
The initiative builds on the Sept. 8 partnership between SMDC and Pag-IBIG Fund, extending their collaboration to the Visayas through the Oct. 16–18 Home Ownership Weekend.
The activities allow prospective buyers to explore developments, request estimated loan computations and understand the requirements for purchasing a home.
SM Prime and SMDC vice president and head of design, innovation and strategy Jessica T. Sy said the expansion reflects the company's commitment to developing communities where Filipinos have established their livelihoods.
“For us, building a nation of homeowners means helping more families own a home where they have chosen to build their future. As we grow in the regions, our responsibility is to create housing choices that respect those roots,” she said in a press statement.
Regional growth
SMDC's Visayas portfolio includes Glade Residences in Iloilo, which offers studio and one-bedroom units, and Smile Residences in Bacolod, located beside SM City Bacolod.
The developer also offers residential lots through Parkville along Burgos Avenue in Bacolod, while its Mindanao portfolio includes Vail Residences in Cagayan de Oro.
Its Iloilo regional office provides sales processing, contract documentation and customer support for buyers in Iloilo and Bacolod.
Support for Expanded 4PH program
Expanding access to housing finance could help more regional households evaluate homeownership opportunities without relocating to Metro Manila.
Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene C. Acosta said the partnership supports the government's Expanded 4PH housing program.
“Through our partnership with SMDC, we are bringing more housing choices closer to our members in Iloilo, Bacolod and other parts of the Visayas,” Acosta said.
