The finalists—Agridom, Greentech Ecobooster, and Pili AdheSeal Inc.—were selected for their forward-looking innovations that address key challenges in agriculture, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
Solutions to farming, fuel efficiency, and sustainability
Agridom, developed by SF Group of Companies Inc., is a precision farming initiative that leverages drone technology to optimize planting and harvesting practices. The solution aims to boost productivity and sustainability for smallholder farmers, a critical segment in Philippine agriculture.
Also making the shortlist is Greentech Ecobooster, a startup behind a fuel optimization device that improves combustion engine efficiency. The innovation is designed to lower fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, offering both environmental and economic benefits.
Rounding out the finalists is Pili AdheSeal Inc., a green tech firm that transforms agricultural waste—specifically from pili trees—into sustainable adhesives and sealants. The company promotes a circular economy model while supporting local farming communities.
Funding and mentorship boost for startups and community enterprises
All three startups are currently undergoing Shell LiveWire’s acceleration phase, where they benefit from expert mentorship, team and product development support, and access to potential markets.
The winning startup will receive ₱1 million in equity-free funding, while the second and third placers will each receive ₱500,000.
In addition to the startup track, 51 community enterprises from across the Philippines are also receiving in-kind or grant support to expand their operations.
Spotlight on emerging talent as Shell strengthens startup ecosystem
Nascent Technologies Corp. received this year’s A-Lister recognition—a special citation for early-stage startups showing high potential. The program’s transparency is overseen by auditing firm PwC, appointed as the official auditor for Shell LiveWire Philippines 2025.
According to recent data, the value of the Philippine startup ecosystem nearly doubled—from $3.5 billion in 2023 to $6.4 billion in 2024—spurred by investment in scalable, tech-enabled enterprises. Shell LiveWire remains a key enabler of this growth, helping local innovators thrive in sectors like climate tech, agritech, education, and health.
The winners of Shell LiveWire 2025 will be announced at the Echelon Event this September, where the next wave of Filipino-led innovation will take center stage. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
