Unveiled on June 2, the digital assistant—dubbed SEC AInnovation—features a chatbot interface that synthesizes legal and regulatory information under the SEC’s purview, including the Revised Corporation Code (Republic Act No. 11232) and the Securities Regulation Code (RA No. 8799). It also pulls from related implementing rules, guidelines, advisories, and SEC’s online services.
The platform aims to streamline access to information, reducing the need for manual research or physical visits to SEC offices.
“This initiative is all about breaking barriers and making our services faster, smarter, and more accessible to everyone—not just in the Philippines but all over the world,” said SEC Chair Emilio B. Aquino. “This system is built to communicate the way you do, breaking language barriers and making sure everyone feels heard and understood.”
SEC AInnovation supports multi-language interactions in English, Filipino, Bisaya, and more, using a natural language processing engine for accurate, conversational responses. Beyond chat, it includes voice-capturing features and clickable topic links for enhanced user experience.
By merging artificial intelligence and legal innovation, the SEC seeks to offer a more efficient, inclusive, and user-friendly approach to regulatory compliance and public engagement.
“This platform represents the Commission’s bold step into the future,” Aquino added, emphasizing SEC’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology in public service. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
