This recognition highlights the integrated resort’s commitment to saving lives and promoting a culture of voluntary blood donation, Okada Manila said in a statement.
As the only integrated resort to be recognized for its contributions to the Non-Remunerated Voluntary Blood Program (NRVBP), Okada Manila donated between 300 and 599 blood units from January 2020 to December 2023.
This forms part of the Talent and Community pillar under its Okada Green Heart program, which focuses on wellness, empowerment, and community support.
In 2024, Okada Manila further strengthened its commitment by organizing two major blood donation drives. These drives, conducted in collaboration with the Philippine Blood Center (PBC), were meticulously planned to prioritize donor safety and comfort, from medical screenings to post-donation care.
The donated blood benefits the general public as well as Okada Manila’s employees and their families, ensuring a steady supply for emergencies, the resort said.
Okada Manila president and COO Byron Yip expressed gratitude, stating, “We are deeply honored by this recognition from the DOH and will continue to actively encourage blood donation as part of our mission to make a meaningful impact.”
With its dedication to public health and community welfare, Okada Manila continues to set a benchmark for corporate social responsibility.
