  • The 680-room property reached 100 percent occupancy on May 19
  • Hotel101 Global says the milestone validates its global expansion model

Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp. said its Hotel101-Madrid property reached a company record of more than €100,000, or about P7.18 million, in recurring room revenues in a single day after achieving 100 percent occupancy on May 19.

The NASDAQ-listed firm which trades under ticker HBNB — and led by billionaires Edgar "Injap" Sia II and Tony Tancaktiong — said the milestone highlights strong demand for the 680-room hotel, its first Hotel101-branded property outside the Philippines. The Madrid hotel officially opened in March 2026.

More than 80 percent of guests at Hotel101-Madrid come from Europe, North America and Latin America, according to the company disclosure.

Why it matters

The company is positioning Hotel101-Madrid as the prototype for its international rollout strategy, with ambitions to develop one million standardized hotel rooms across 100 countries and become the world’s largest single-brand hotel chain.

Hotel101 Global said the property’s performance supports its asset-light and prop-tech driven hospitality model focused on generating long-term recurring revenues from hotel operations.

The Madrid hotel has also secured an exclusive agreement with MATCH Hospitality AG to serve as an official hotel partner for the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix from 2026 to 2035.

Located in Valdebebas, Madrid, the hotel sits adjacent to the future Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix circuit and near key transport and commercial hubs, including IFEMA convention center and Madrid-Barajas International Airport.

What’s next

Hotel101 Global said it expects additional recurring revenues from overseas operations as Hotel101-Niseko in Hokkaido, Japan prepares to open in December 2026. The Japanese property will add 482 rooms to the company’s international portfolio.

The company said 2026 will mark its largest annual room expansion, with 2,229 additional rooms scheduled to become operational. Aside from Madrid and Niseko, Hotel101 projects in Davao and Cebu are also expected to open this year.

DoubleDragon Corp., the parent company behind Hotel101, added that its hospitality, office, industrial and community mall leasing businesses are expected to contribute higher recurring revenues moving forward. —Daxim L. Lucas | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
