The visit at Megawide’s Taytay plant highlighted how factory-built components can shorten construction time and scale output across multiple housing sites nationwide.
Officials said pre-cast systems improve speed, cost efficiency and build consistency, which are key constraints in addressing the country’s housing backlog.
Factory-built housing push
The facility is owned by Megawide Construction, a listed engineering and infrastructure firm controlled by tycoon Edgar Saavedra.
It is expected to supply components for 4PH projects covering both vertical and horizontal developments in several provinces and cities.
By shifting more projects to industrialized methods, the government aims to scale production without compromising structural quality or safety.
Speeding up 4PH supply
The event also included the ceremonial turnover of housing assistance to beneficiaries in Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Caloocan, Cavite, Pampanga and Occidental Mindoro, alongside the unveiling of a pilot rental housing project in UP Diliman.
The rental model adds to vertical, horizontal and community mortgage modalities under the expanded 4PH program.
