LIMA Estate expands manufacturing base with robotics investment

LIMA Estate is expanding beyond its established manufacturing base into robotics, reflecting its push to attract more diversified industrial activity while providing manufacturers with infrastructure, utilities and access to a growing workforce.

Piebon companion robot

MDT Technologies Philippines Inc. is establishing a manufacturing facility on a 1.86-hectare site in the Lipa-Malvar, Batangas estate, where it plans to produce the Piebon Companion Robot. The facility is expected to begin operations by the first quarter of 2028 and generate around 200 jobs.

The investment was formalized through a contract signing and lot handover on Sept. 15, following a ceremonial groundbreaking on Aug. 25.

Metal components manufacturer

MDT Technologies Philippines is a newly established Philippine entity of Taiwan-based CQS Precision Die Casting Inc., a precision metal components manufacturer serving automotive, electric vehicle and mobility, motorcycle, agricultural machinery and other industrial applications.

CQS already operates a manufacturing plant in Dong Nai, Vietnam, and maintains overseas warehousing serving US customers. Its capabilities include aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, stamping, surface treatment and assembly.

Integrated environment 

Robotics adds another segment to LIMA Estate’s industrial ecosystem. The 1,100-hectare Peza-registered estate hosts more than 200 locators and 75,000 employees, alongside commercial, residential, institutional and lifestyle components.

Aboitiz Economic Estates positions an integrated environment as a way to help manufacturers move from investment decisions into construction and operations.
