The facilities can withstand winds of up to 290 kilometers per hour and sit on elevated sites for greater flood protection.
They also have automated fire systems and links to multiple transport corridors, reducing the risk that a single disruption cuts factories off from workers and supply chains.
The International Finance Corp.’s Building Resilience Index measures how well properties can withstand natural hazards and climate-related risks, with Haskoning Philippines independently assessing the sites.
“When businesses are able to operate with confidence, they create jobs, strengthen communities and contribute to the growth of the economy,” Ceballos said.
