The revitalized SM City J Mall will open its doors to the public on Oct. 25 this year, the developer said in a statement on Wednesday.
SM City J Mall, located on A.S. Fortuna Street in Barangay Bakilid, offers over 100,000 square meters of space with a diverse mix of shops, dining, and entertainment.
SM Prime, which has 87 malls across the country, said it is 80 percent pre-leased, and anchor tenants include The SM Store, SM Hypermarket, Uniqlo, and BDO.
Management’s view
“The opening of SM City J Mall reflects our confidence in the robust economic growth of Central Visayas,” said SM Prime president Jeffrey C. Lim. “This new mall is designed to cater to the increasing demand for premium commercial and lifestyle experiences in Mandaue City.”
“Our expansion into thriving regional hubs like Mandaue City is integral to our strategy of driving economic progress across the Philippines and delivering sustainable value to our stakeholders,” added Lim.
Fast-growing Mandaue City
Mandaue is a first-class highly urbanized city in central-eastern Cebu.
It serves as the industrial hub of Central Visayas, hosting about 10,000 industrial and commercial businesses.
Meanwhile, Central Visayas posted the country’s highest economic growth rate in 2023, expanding by 7.3 percent, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority.
