In its State of Data Readiness Report 2024 involving 900 firms across Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, Commvault said 71% experienced cyberattacks in the past year.
Respondents in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam were the most targeted, with their production data, secondary data, and backups being the primary focus.
Recovery expectations and realities diverge sharply. While 79% of business leaders expect resumption within five days, IT teams report a recovery time of four to five weeks.
Only 35% successfully recovered all data, and 91% struggled with 'dark data.' The report highlights the urgent need for improved data management and cyber resilience strategies.
