The IWF warns that exposure to such material, even in cartoon form, can cause harm and is illegal in many countries.
To combat this, Globe has invested over $2.7 million in advanced filtering systems in line with the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.
“Our dedication to online safety drives us to proactively detect and block harmful content, ensuring children are protected from sexual exploitation and other digital threats,” said lawyer Irish Krystle Salandanan-Almeida, Globe’s chief privacy officer.
“Through advanced filtering technologies, we strive to maintain a safer and more secure online space for all,” she added.
The initiative is part of Globe’s #MakeITSafePH campaign, which promotes digital safety awareness. In 2024 alone, Globe blocked 3,096 domains containing illegal child exploitation content.
