To help address these hurdles, Canva Philippines has launched Canva Eskwela 2026, a nationwide initiative aimed at equipping educators with digital tools, training, and resources designed to make teaching more efficient and engaging.
Survey findings
The launch follows findings from Canva’s 2026 educator survey, which highlighted the demands placed on teachers during the back-to-school season.
Presentation creation emerged as the most time-consuming task, cited by 35 percent of respondents, followed by classroom visual preparation at 30 percent and lesson planning at 21 percent.
The survey also revealed that connectivity remains a major obstacle to digital learning adoption. Forty percent of educators identified poor internet access as the biggest barrier to integrating technology into classroom instruction, while others cited hesitation in adopting new technologies.
Despite these challenges, digital learning continues to gain traction among educators. The survey found that 97 percent of respondents already use Canva, with 56 percent utilizing the platform daily.
Meanwhile, 63 percent expressed enthusiasm about incorporating more digital tools into their teaching practices.
Digital support
According to Canva Philippines education marketing lead Ysa Delfin-Malinao, the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to helping teachers overcome barriers that limit learning opportunities.
“Filipino educators are among the most dedicated in the world, yet they face real barriers, from connectivity challenges to time constraints, that limit what's possible in the classroom,” Delfin-Malinao said.
“Canva Eskwela 2026 is our commitment to removing those barriers and ensuring every teacher has the tools to inspire the next generation of Filipino innovators and leaders.”
The campaign includes hands-on teacher training sessions, student workshops, and experiential activities that demonstrate how digital tools can improve classroom experiences.
Canva said the initiative aims to deepen the integration of technology into everyday learning workflows while reducing administrative burdens on educators.
Classroom tools
Among the featured innovations is Learn Grid, Canva’s centralized learning hub that offers curriculum-aligned resources and AI-generated classroom activities.
The platform is designed to support not only teachers but also students and parents collaborating on school assignments.
Canva also highlighted Canva Offline, a feature that enables users to continue working even without internet connectivity.
The capability seeks to address one of the most persistent barriers identified by educators, particularly in areas with unreliable internet access.
By providing ready-to-use instructional materials across grade levels, Canva hopes to streamline lesson preparation and classroom management while supporting the development of critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
Community impact
Beyond digital learning, Canva continues to expand its education-focused community initiatives across the country. Through the Canva Foundation, the company partnered with impact organization HOPE to rebuild classrooms in schools affected by typhoons.
A recent handover ceremony at Jose Zabarte Elementary School in Tuy, Batangas marked the latest milestone of the partnership. The initiative is expected to benefit up to 17,500 Filipino students over time.
Additional programs under Canva Eskwela 2026 include device donations through Devices for Good, school supply distribution for 860 students through Learning Essentials, and training opportunities such as Career Spark Days and Skills Webinars.
