Insider spotlight:
In a statement, the Ayala-controlled bank said the move aims to support the growing financial needs of Filipinos with international lifestyles.
During the six-month promotional period, BPI Debit Mastercard holders will enjoy zero international transaction fees on both in-store and online purchases in foreign or local currencies. Additionally, the bank is waiving the standard $3.50 or 1.75-percent fee—whichever is higher—for international ATM withdrawals.
Cardholders are not required to enroll or meet a minimum spend to avail of the fee waivers, which will be applied automatically at the point of transaction.
“This initiative reflects BPI’s commitment to delivering seamless, borderless banking experiences that match the evolving needs of a globally connected customer base,” the bank said.
However, other charges such as the 1-percent foreign exchange mark-up, $1 international balance inquiry fee, $1 ATM decline charge, and third-party bank or operator fees will still apply.
The offer is exclusive to BPI Debit Mastercard holders and is part of BPI’s broader digital modernization efforts aimed at increasing convenience and financial flexibility for customers wherever they are in the world.
