Insider Spotlight
The initiative benefits over 20,000 learners and 700 educators from 13 public and private educational institutions, strengthening access to technology for classroom instruction, research and other academic activities.
Essential tools
Access to reliable computer equipment remains essential as schools increasingly integrate digital resources into teaching and learning.
By providing refurbished devices, BDO Foundation is helping educational institutions improve their technological capabilities without requiring the purchase of entirely new equipment.
The initiative also demonstrates how corporate resources can be repurposed to support education while encouraging more responsible equipment utilization.
The beneficiaries are located in Leyte, Bulacan, Catanduanes, Quezon City, Pasay City, Taguig City and Valenzuela City, extending the program's reach across several communities.
Expanding access to technology
The donated computers are intended to support classroom activities, research, digital learning and other educational requirements, giving students and teachers additional tools for academic work.
Beyond expanding access to technology, the initiative promotes resource efficiency by extending the operational life of computers and laptops that can still serve educational purposes.
Established in 2008, BDO Foundation implements social development initiatives focused on financial inclusion, disaster response, rehabilitation and rebuilding.
Its programs include financial education, school building construction, rural health unit rehabilitation and disaster relief operations, undertaken with support from the BDO Unibank community and institutional partners.
The computer donation initiative adds to these efforts by directing reusable technology toward institutions serving learners and educators. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
