The group’s coordinated response, one of its largest this year, follows its continuing assistance to families affected by the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu in September.
Sabin M. Aboitiz, chair of the Aboitiz Foundation, said the effort reflects the group’s commitment to stand together for its people and communities through every crisis.
Relief for 12,500 families
Foundation president Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar added that the sustained relief efforts underscore Aboitiz’s long-term goal of helping communities recover and build resilience.
Partnering with local government units and Aboitiz companies such as Aboitiz InfraCapital Water, Visayan Electric, AboitizPower Transition Business Group, Aboitiz Renewables, Aboitiz Land, Aboitiz Economic Estates, Aboitiz Foods, and Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz, the Foundation has distributed over 7,200 food and non-food packs and 158,000 liters of potable water to more than 12,500 families.
Relief operations began on Nov. 5 and continue this week, with support reaching Cebu City, Mandaue, Liloan, Toledo, Talisay, and Balamban. Aboitiz InfraCapital Water deployed water tankers, while AboitizPower units—including Visayan Electric, Davao Light, and Cotabato Light—are restoring power lines in affected communities.
