In a statement, the shipping firm of the SM group said the initiative aims to enhance hospitality and promote culturally aligned services across its operations, reflecting the company’s commitment to improving service standards in the tourism industry.
The FBSE program, led by Tourism Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, focuses on instilling core Filipino values in customer service. This approach seeks to create a distinct brand of Filipino hospitality, ensuring visitors experience the warmth and professionalism unique to the Philippines.
As part of the collaboration, 2GO has already certified 14 trainers who will help roll out the FBSE training program within the company. These trainers will mentor their colleagues, particularly those in customer-facing roles, to apply culturally significant Filipino practices, such as the mabuhay and salamat gestures, in daily operations.
“As we anticipate more travelers in the Philippines, aligning with the FBSE program allows us to contribute to a seamless Filipino hospitality experience for our passengers traveling from shore to shore,” 2GO Group president and CEO Frederic DyBuncio said.
The training program is particularly timely as the country continues to experience growth in tourist arrivals.
By integrating the FBSE principles into its operations, 2GO seeks to elevate service excellence and better serve its expanding customer base.
The firm said this collaboration with the DOT marks a milestone in its mission to align its operations with the rich heritage of Filipino hospitality.
