INSIDER SPOTLIGHT
Singson, who has built a career across Wall Street, government service, and investment banking, said the firm is primed to widen its deal pipeline with the help of technology and global partnerships.
What she’s saying
“Unicapital has a legacy of trusted execution,” Singson said in a press release on Dec. 2, 2025.
“Our opportunity now is to broaden our origination pipeline by using technology to help more companies scale their vision.”
Why it matters
Singson’s appointment signals Unicapital’s intent to bridge Philippine businesses with global capital flows—a critical capability as more local companies pursue regional expansion and international investor access.
A veteran with international depth
Singson is a CFA charterholder and Harvard Business School graduate whose early career took shape in New York through roles at Swiss Re’s investment banking arm, Morgan Stanley’s equity research group, and The Boston Company Asset Management.
She later brought this global perspective to government, serving as chief privatization officer and undersecretary of the finance department, where she advised on major deals including the recapitalization of United Coconut Planters Bank and the restructuring of Hanjin Shipyard, which secured a $300-million investment from Cerberus Capital.
The big picture
Her private-sector experience includes leading Macquarie Capital’s Philippine coverage as vice president, where she handled capital markets and M&A advisory across sectors.
“I am bringing an integrated view of how capital, governance, and innovation can accelerate growth,” Singson said. “My focus is on bringing institutional-grade advisory and access to capital to the entrepreneurs and companies that power the Philippine economy.”
The strategy ahead
Singson is steering Unicapital’s next chapter through three core priorities:
• Expanding market access by strengthening ties with international investors to open more pathways for Philippine companies
• Modernizing deal processes by embedding digital tools across origination, pipeline management, and execution to enhance transparency and efficiency
• Deepening advisory capabilities beyond capital raising, offering support in deal structuring, valuation, governance, and long-term exit planning
She also emphasizes talent development, aiming to build teams that “think analytically, independently, and execute decisively.”
The bottom line
Singson’s appointment positions Unicapital to operate with greater agility and global insight as it navigates shifting market cycles and pursues new growth opportunities. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
