Toledo Foresees ‘Golden Age’ for Philippine Mining

Chamber of Mines of the Philippines chair and president Mike Toledo expressed optimism about a forthcoming 'golden age' for the country's mining industry, thanks to supportive regulators and a favorable external environment.

In a statement, Toledo highlighted ongoing preparations for the Mining Policy Summit with the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources and think tank Stratbase, anticipating significant industry advancements.

He emphasized the supportive stance of the current administration and Congress towards mining as essential in transitioning from fossil fuels to combat climate change.

With a science-based policy approach from the DENR and increasing global demand for critical minerals, Toledo said the outlook for the sector is promising.
