The issue was raised after the Tuesday stockholders’ meeting of real estate giant SM Prime Holdings, which owns the property in Parañaque used for other high-profile acts.
In a light moment during the post-meeting media briefing, SM Prime president Jeffrey Lim was asked about his views on the rumored event.
“Can you comment on online speculation that SMDC Festival Grounds is being considered for a major K-pop concert next year?” an SM Prime executive asked Lim.
“I think that deal is done already and they will be performing in the open grounds of SMDC, which is the one fronting Solaire,” Lim said, without naming the group.
A reporter quickly chimed in to ask if the group was BTS, but Lim was playfully cut off and the conversation was steered back to business topics.
The SMDC Festival Grounds—an open-field venue that can accommodate over 50,000 people—was tagged as the location for the tour’s domestic leg a few weeks ago but a Live Nation Philippines executive denied this.
BTS is composed of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The group’s “Arirang” tour is scheduled to stop in Manila on March 13 and 14, 2027, although the venue has yet to be officially announced.
Without any final confirmation, fans will continue to speculate, but it’s clear that SM Prime doesn’t mind leaning into the hype.
