This vision was outlined by Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina A. Roque during the 5th Quezon City International Business Conference (QCIBC) on Feb. 28, 2025.
“We are not simply building businesses; we are building a brand. A brand that represents the heart and soul of the Filipino people. The Tatak Pinoy Act is a mark of excellence, a guarantee of quality, and a symbol of our dedication to global competitiveness. We must put Tatak Pinoy into action,” Roque emphasized.
Key pillars
At the core of the Tatak Pinoy Strategy are five key pillars designed to strengthen local enterprises, boost exports, attract investments, and enhance the country’s global standing. These are:
Human resources development
Infrastructure expansion
Technology and innovation advancement
Investment generation
Sound financial management
The strategy, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said in a statement, aligns with growing foreign investor interest in the Philippine market, which Roque highlighted following her recent engagements in Davos, Switzerland. She noted that international investors see the Philippines as an attractive investment destination.
Empowering small businesses
The Tatak Pinoy Act also empowers micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by improving their access to global markets. With increasing demand from foreign buyers to source from MSMEs, this initiative enables Filipino businesses to expand their exports and gain a stronger international foothold.
Roque reaffirmed the government’s commitment to pursuing free trade agreements to further economic expansion.
