At the heart of the celebration was a fundraising initiative aimed at expanding SBFI’s school building donation program. By combining employee engagement, family fun, and social responsibility, the bank generated over P1.4 million—funds that will go toward constructing classroom roofs for 30 public school classrooms across the country.
“This celebration goes beyond games and gatherings—it’s about uniting families, employees, and communities to create lasting impact,” said SBFI chair Rafael F. Simpao Jr. “By working together, we can help improve access to quality education for Filipino children—one classroom, one child at a time.”
Play with purpose
The month-long celebration, held from June 7 to 27, featured the Security Bank Arena: Play for a Cause, which included fun competitions such as Trivia, Name That Tune, and a Mobile Legends tournament. Registration fees and event proceeds contributed directly to the fundraising goal.
In parallel, the SBC Marketplace gave employees and partner vendors the chance to sell goods and services for charity. Meanwhile, online learning sessions engaged families on topics ranging from financial literacy to wellness.
Children of employees were also welcomed into the celebration through the Little Security Bankers’ League, a special program designed to introduce them to the bank’s values and BetterBanking culture. A daily trivia challenge spotlighted Security Bank’s rich history and milestones.
Continuing the mission
The bank’s commitment to education continues, with fundraising efforts running through December 2025. SBFI has also launched “Bayanihan para sa Silid-Aralan”, a new initiative that mobilizes Security Bank’s sales force to engage clients in the classroom-building mission.
As the bank turns 74, it demonstrates that impact-driven banking means more than financial services—it means building better futures for communities, one classroom at a time. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
