The buses will serve key commuter corridors connecting Quezon City and Pasig City, including routes traversing the Ortigas Business District and Bridgetowne, RLC’s destination estate.
The initiative is aimed at providing workers, students and residents with a more accessible transport option while helping ease congestion along major roads.
Robinsons Land president and CEO Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio said improving mobility has become increasingly important as commuters contend with heavy traffic and lengthy daily trips.
“Robinsons Land recognizes the growing need for efficient mobility solutions that will help Filipinos navigate their daily travel challenge,” Aragon-GoBio said.
Daily commute
Through the Love Bus initiative, RLC and the MMDA aim to expand transportation access in high-traffic areas and make daily travel more convenient for commuters.
The company said better transport access could help reduce commuting difficulties and support productivity, particularly for thousands of workers, students and residents who travel through Metro Manila’s major business districts every day.
The deployment also extends RLC’s mobility initiatives beyond its properties as the developer seeks to contribute to better-connected communities.
Bridgetowne, which straddles Quezon City and Pasig, has emerged as one of RLC’s major mixed-use destination estates, with office, residential, retail and recreational developments.
The additional buses are expected to improve access to the area as well as established commercial districts such as Ortigas.
Public-private effort
The deployment forms part of broader public-private efforts to find practical ways to improve mobility in the capital region, where traffic congestion remains a daily challenge for commuters.
The launch was attended by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, Antipolo Mayor Jun Ynares III, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.
RLC executives were led by Aragon-GoBio and EVP and group business unit general manager for Robinsons Malls and Robinsons Destination Estates Faraday D. Go.
RLC said its participation in the MMDA Love Bus program reflects its commitment to supporting transportation solutions that can improve mobility and make daily commutes easier.
The initiative also underscores the potential role of private companies in complementing government efforts to address transportation challenges, particularly in major employment and commercial centers where large numbers of commuters travel daily.
For RLC, the deployment ties mobility improvements to the development of more accessible communities, particularly around its major estates and commercial properties.
The company said such partnerships could help provide benefits beyond its developments by improving connections among workplaces, commercial centers and surrounding communities. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
