“We are so delighted to announce that two of our portfolio properties, The Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu and NUSTAR Cebu, have been listed in the distinguished Michelin Guide Philippines,” said Barun Jolly, SVP and business unit general manager of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR), RLC’s hospitality arm.
“This recognition is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence, innovation, and Filipino hospitality,” he said.
The Michelin Guide, which began recognizing hotels globally in 2024, is known for its rigorous standards. It evaluates accommodations based on five key criteria: architecture and interior design, quality of service, personality and character, value for money, and contribution to the local experience.
From just six Philippine hotels in its debut year, the 2025 guide now includes 13—indicating rising global attention on the country’s hospitality scene.
NUSTAR Hotel: Elevating Filipino ultra-luxury
One of the newly listed properties, NUSTAR Hotel, debuted earlier this year as part of the expansive NUSTAR Integrated Resort and Casino Complex.
With 300 elegantly appointed rooms offering sweeping views of the Cebu Strait, the hotel sets a new standard for Filipino ultra-luxury. It is the first hotel brand of its kind in the country, designed to meet the expectations of high-end global travelers.
“Our pioneering spirit drives us to create developments like NUSTAR Hotel—ultra-luxury, proudly Filipino, and designed to elevate the global perception of Philippine hospitality,” said Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio, president and CEO of Robinsons Land Corp
Hospitality, she said, is more than business—it’s a cultural platform that uplifts communities and promotes Filipino identity.
Dusit Thani Mactan: Where Thai elegance meets Filipino warmth
Also earning a place in the guide is Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, located on the scenic shores of Mactan Island. The resort blends Thai elegance with the warmth of Filipino service, creating a haven of wellness and comfort. Operated under a partnership between Thailand-based Dusit International and RHR, the hotel combines global hospitality standards with local insights and charm.
Reinforcing the Philippines’ tourism vision
RHR operates over 30 properties with more than 5,000 rooms across 20 cities and municipalities, making it the Philippines’ largest and most diversified hotel group.
Its dual recognition in the Michelin Guide is a significant endorsement of its brand philosophy and operational excellence.
Reflecting on the achievement, Jolly emphasized the importance of teamwork and guest trust: “This Michelin distinction is more than an award—it’s a defining step in our journey toward positioning Robinsons Hotels and Resorts as a world-class hospitality brand. We remain resolutely focused on delivering the warmth, quality, and authenticity that define Filipino hospitality.” —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
