PhilChamSG charts future with AI, new officers at 2025 AGM

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce (Singapore), or PhilChamSG, convened its members, partners, and friends on Aug. 21 at the Forvis Mazars offices for its 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The program blended fellowship, elections, and a forward-looking keynote that highlighted the Chamber’s growing influence in Singapore’s business community.

AI insights take center stage

Keynote speaker Christoph Burgdorfer, managing director of Asteria, spoke on artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on work and industries worldwide. His talk encouraged members to embrace innovation and explore growth opportunities, sparking discussions on how AI could shape business in the region.

New leadership elected

The AGM also marked a smooth and successful election led by Ninalyn Cacananta and the election committee. PhilChamSG introduced its new officers:

  • Margarita “Tats” Locsin – President

  • Djamila Burgos – Secretary

  • Maria Edlyn dela Cruz – Assistant Secretary

  • Joey Peciller – Assistant Secretary

Outgoing president Benjamin D. Ong was recognized for his dedicated service. “Strength does not come from tradition alone. It comes from our ability to improve, to adapt, and to grow together as an organization,” Ong told members.

The leadership transition signals a new chapter for PhilChamSG as it continues to connect and empower Filipino professionals and entrepreneurs in Singapore. 

Locsin underscored the importance of collective effort: “The Chamber will only be as good as we all make it, so I encourage you all to get involved and step up to the committees and board.”
